Dave Mashino’s Wildcat Valley Railway

The WVR is a freelanced point to point design set somewhere in the 1920’s to 30’s era Eastern US. You will see a typical layout under construction with steam era trains running through some “finished” scenery. The track plan has two decks with no helix using a maximum 2% grade through some mountainous scenery to connect the upper and lower decks. Digitrax is used to control the sound equipped steam power. The layout uses block detection with semaphore signals controlled with JMRI.  The yards are switched using a JMRI web interface on I-pads. The L-girder benchwork and trackwork is complete with 260’ of single track mainline in a 15’ x 37’ room in the basement.
